Fencing in your pool is always a good choice. In some municipalities, you are required to have a fence surrounding your pool. Aluminum

Aluminum is one of the most common metals used for fencing. While your first thought may be to avoid metal fencing because it might rust in the presence of water, you really don't have to worry about this with aluminum. It doesn't rust, and while it will eventually corrode, aluminum fencing is painted with finishes to prevent contact between the water and metal, which will keep corrosion at bay for decades.

Aluminum is a good choice if you don't want a solid fence. You can find aluminum fences with vertical bars close enough together to keep people out, but far enough apart to maintain visibility through the fence. These fences are affordable, lightweight, and easy to install.

Vinyl

If you want a solid fence around your pool, then vinyl is the way to go. A solid vinyl fence can give you privacy in your pool and yard, and it can hide the fact that you even have a pool.

You can find vinyl fences with solid panels and all sorts of different designs along the top. Most are white, but you can find them in many colors. Vinyl is low-maintenance, impervious to water, and readily available. It is more costly than an aluminum fence, and you'll probably want to have it professionally installed since the panels tend to be large and cumbersome.

Vinyl-Coated Chain Link

If you are on a tight budget, then a vinyl-coated chain-link fence may be your best option. These fences are made from stainless steel but coated with vinyl to minimize contact with water and evade rusting. Vinyl-coated chain link is not generally seen as the most aesthetic pool fence option, but it's inexpensive and easy to install. You can see through the fence, but you do have the option of having vinyl slats inserted into the fence to make it less see-through. Vinyl-coated chain link will do the job of keeping people out of your pool; it's just not the fanciest choice.
